Call for Poets, Scholars, and Editors

Bridgewater International Poetry Festival

A celebration of global poetry in English hosted at Bridgewater College

May 16-20, 2018

Poets: We are accepting proposals from poets for a reading of 20 minutes from their original poetry in English (or with English translation). Submissions accepted through March 31, with Early Bird acceptances issued approximately January 1. International submissions after February 15, 2018, must affirm visa is already in hand. Send 3 poems to one of the addresses below along with a brief biographical sketch containing only name, location, and recent publications. Names should not appear on the poems.

Scholars and Critics/Translators: A limited number of paired presentations will be considered wherein a poet presents his or her work along with a critic’s or translator’s response to that work. These will be a joint proposal coming from the poet and scholar/translator together for a presentation of 40 minutes.

Editors, Publishers, Educators: Representatives may request table space to meet with authors/students or to display and sell materials: in addition to registration, half-table $30, whole $50. Table space is limited.
$25 application fee (waived for poets residing outside the United States and Festival Workshop attendees; application fee covers registration regardless of acceptance). $35 non-participant registration.
